I Care a Lot features a sequence in which protagonist Marla Grayson puts her recently knocked-out tooth in a bottle of milk.
The movie starring Rosamund Pike as Marla, an amoral legal guardian wearing fabulous suits, premiered on the streamer in select territories on February 19.
When Marla tries to exploit a wealthy elder called Jennifer Peterson (Dianne Wiest,) she doesn’t know the woman has powerful ties with the Russian mafia.
This Is Why Marla Soaks Her Tooth In Milk In ‘I Care A Lot’
At one point in the film by J Blakeson, powerful Russian boss Roman Lunyov (Peter Dinklage) kidnaps Marla and subsequently drugs her and puts her in a car crashing into a lake. The protagonist manages to escape the sinking car, but as she reemerges, she realizes one of her teeth is falling out as a consequence of being punched in the face.
Marla pulls the tooth out, then goes to the closest convenience store and finally places the tooth in a bottle of milk. This might have confused some viewers. Why milk? Netflix has the answer.
NetflixFilm posted a picture of Marla putting her tooth in the bottle of milk and one of the character as waits outside a dental practice, bottle in hand.
“The tooth must stay moist at all times, either in your mouth or, if it can’t be replaced in the socket, put it in milk,” Netflix captioned the pictures with this quote from The American Association of Endodontists (AAE).
According to the AAE, this is an effective method to save the tooth. Ideally, you should see a dentist within 30 minutes, but it is possible to preserve a knocked-out tooth for longer.
Rosamund Pike Was Trapped In A Car Underwater For ‘I Care A Lot’
The Gone Girl actor performed her own stunts in I Care a Lot, being trapped in a sinking car in the aforementioned crucial scene.
“I had two days filming in a car underwater where it’s all for real and my character is fighting for her life and trying to escape from a sinking car,” Pike recently told Jimmy Kimmel.
“This is probably everybody’s worst nightmare,” she added.
Pike is nominated at the upcoming Golden Globes for the role of Marla in the Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy category.
